A 36-year-old motorcyclist was fatally injured when he lost control of his bike while riding westbound on El Toro Road, south of Live Oak Canyon Road, about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The victim, Frederick Michael Jacoby of Anaheim, was pronounced dead at Mission Community Hospital in Mission Viejo, said CHP Officer Steve Beeuwsaert, who investigated the accident.

Beeuwsaert said Jacoby was not wearing a helmet and struck his head on a rock after crashing off the roadway. The motorcyclist's speed at the time of the accident had not been determined, Beeuwsaert said.
