I was shocked when reading your editorial. You just don't hire a teacher who has previously been arrested for lewd conduct to work with children.
If only the arrest could have actually raised a red flag when the officials began receiving specific and detailed allegations against Bartholome in 1982.
How could the officials let this situation slide by? Why did they have to wait until it was too late? We cannot have our teachers of today practicing abusive sexual behavior. It's about time these school officials protect their children instead of themselves and their public image.
