Dozens of Israeli leftists plan to meet with officials of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Romania today, risking jail to challenge a new law banning such contacts. The law passed Aug. 6 provides three-year prison terms for Israelis who meet with representatives of terrorist organizations, a definition Israel applies to the PLO. Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir called the meeting "pointless," and Israelis making the trip were warned they face prosecution on their return.
