'Nicaraguan Obsession'

November 09, 1986

The Times continues to play its vital role in the maintenance of our democratic institutions. I applaud The Times' support of government programs that serve all the people. I also applaud The Times when it calls a spade a spade. Your honest and tough editorial of Oct. 30 is a clear example: "Reagan won't abandon his cockeyed crusade against Nicaragua, so Congress must refuse to give any more money to the contras and do what it can to keep private groups from supporting the Nicaraguan rebels as well."
