Australian Tour in a Gypsy Style

November 09, 1986

Those who enjoy camping but want to try something different may rent a horse-drawn caravan in Australia. The Gypsy-style, wooden caravan wagons are fully furnished, sleep up to four people and cost about $50 a day.

Each wagon is pulled through quiet country lanes and forest areas by a gentle Clydesdale horse. A great favorite of the Australians, Clydesdales are strong and capable of pulling the wagon but are also gentle and easy to handle for those not experienced with horses. For more information, phone the Victoria Tourism Commission, (213) 387-3111.
