The International Basketball Assn., a summer pro league for players 6-foot 4-inch and under, has announced plans to play an introductory schedule of exhibition games in North America in 1987 with the first three-month season scheduled to begin in June of 1988.

Boston has just joined original franchises awarded to Orange County, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., South Florida, Alaska and Winnipeg, Canada.
