Mike Maclear scored four goals to help top-seeded El Dorado High School to a 15-3 victory in a Southern Section 3-A quarterfinal match at Tustin High School Tuesday.
Mike Tillman and Kernit Seaton added three goals each as El Dorado (24-4) moved into Friday's semifinals against No. 5 Indio.
In other 3-A quarterfinals:
San Clemente 9, Los Altos 3--Mike Burke led the third-seeded Tritons with three goals at San Clemente. The Tritons will play Riverside Poly in Friday's semifinals. Los Altos finished at 21-6.
Riverside Poly 10, Los Alamitos 5--The Griffins (17-11) were outscored, 5-1, in the fourth quarter at Riverside. Los Alamitos trailed, 5-4, at the end of the third quarter, but a series of ejection penalties and penalty shots allowed Riverside Poly to build a big lead.
In 4-A quarterfinals:
Sunny Hills 10, Foothill 8--Junior Javier Santiago scored five goals to lead the Lancers into the 4-A semifinals Friday against Newport Harbor. Foothill came back from a 10-3 deficit with five goals in the fourth quarter.
Corona del Mar 10, Fullerton 7--Keith Head scored four goals to help the Sea Kings in Independence Park at Fullerton. Corona del Mar (28-0) is the top-seeded team in the 4-A playoffs and plays University Friday in the semifinals. The Sea Kings defeated University, 13-10, in Sea View League play earlier this year. Eric Vinje, selected the Sea View League's most valuable player, scored two goals for Corona del Mar.
University 9, Villa Park 8 (OT)--Mark Herman scored with four seconds remaining in overtime for the Trojans (21-6) at Heritage Park in Irvine. The score was tied, 7-7, at the end of regulation. Villa Park's Trevor Krischner scored first in overtime but University's Gene Metz tied the score before Herman's goal. University plays Corona del Mar in a Friday semifinal.
Newport Harbor 11, Marina 2--The Sailors won easily at home.
In a 2-A quarterfinal:
Costa Mesa 8, Cabrillo 2--Mike Kennedy and Shane Coons scored three goals each to help the top-seeded Mustangs (19-10) at Orange Coast College. Costa Mesa limited Cabrillo (20-8) to two goals in the second quarter. Goalie Scott Taylor had 12 saves.
