U.S. to Increase Purchases of Mexican Oil for Reserve

WASHINGTON — The United States will step up purchases of Mexican crude oil for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in Louisiana and Texas, the Energy Department announced Wednesday. A new contract signed in Mexico City provides for deliveries of 65,000 barrels a day, up from 50,000 in the previous contract.
