I will not deny the fact that Arizona State probably deserves the Rose Bowl bid this year. They defeated USC, Washington and UCLA. However, Stanford and Oregon State were not on their schedule.
It's inconceivable that the Pac-10 will not schedule each team within the conference against every other team in the conference. But, then again, since the almighty dollar is most likely the culprit in this situation, this complaint will most certainly be ignored.
It's also ironic that Arizona State is one of only two teams in the conference that plays only seven conference games. And how did ASU manage to arrange a nonconference game the week before their annual showdown with Arizona?
I still wish ASU all the luck in the world. But they better win on Jan. 1 or the entire state of Arizona could well be in for a media drubbing. We're used to success here on the West Coast.
