High-Tech Components Add Up to Preview of the Future

November 20, 1986

The electronic products of the future, whether on Earth or in space, are often determined by the latest high-tech components, many of which are on display at Wescon, an electronic trade show closing today at the Anaheim Convention Center. One of the show's major attractions has been the space station exhibit where rival designs for the astronaut living quarters from McDonnell Douglas Astronautics and Rockwell International are on display. Contracts for building the permanent space station, where astronauts will live for several months at a stretch, are scheduled to be awarded next year by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
