The State

November 21, 1986

Russel Glasgal, acquitted of killing his wealthy parents two years ago, reached a settlement with his brother, Steven, 20, and sister, Lauren, 23, of the civil suit in which they sought to deny him his share of the slain couple's $4-million estate. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but it was approved by San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Allan Bollhoffer. Glasgal, 25, was acquitted in the bludgeon murders of his parents, whose bodies were found in the family's San Mateo home Sept. 16, 1983. He became a suspect in the case after he failed to come home the day of the murders, but his first trial failed to produce a verdict and he was acquitted in the second.
