Dodger first baseman Greg Brock, who has asked to be traded, may be in Oakland next season if A's General Manager Sandy Alderson has his way. With Bruce Bochte and Dave Kingman both filing for free agency, the A's do not have an experienced first baseman on their roster. Alderson admitted he had talked with the Dodgers but declined further comment.

A complication in a possible trade for Brock, however, is that the Dodgers are looking for short relief and the A's would not likely part with bullpen ace Jay Howell in a straight trade.
