Candied cranberries can add a festive touch to holiday cakes and cookies. To make them, simply heat fresh berries gently in a thick sugar and water syrup. Remove from the pan with a slotted spoon. Let dry in a single layer on wax paper.
They can be used in circles atop frosted cakes or as tree ornaments on Christmas-tree cookies. They also are festive scattered on fresh greens for a colorful centerpiece.
