Management Hit

December 07, 1986

I was particularly disturbed by a letter written by a William Powers of Sacramento, which appeared on Nov. 23. I am a Lucky employee. I'm not writing this letter to offer my opinions on the past maneuvers of Asher B. Edleman or Lucky's management.

I'm addressing this, as an appeal to Powers and other consumers, who pledge themselves not to shop at Lucky's. That action would prove to be the ultimate demise of 33,000 more jobs at Lucky's.

As it is, too many of our friends and their families will be celebrating a bleak Christmas!

Many employees, myself included, have pledged not to give up.

Not only are many working harder to strengthen our company and to ensure our own jobs, but to expand and bring back our friends and co-workers from Gemco's.
