Control Data will take charges of $200 million.

December 17, 1986

The Minneapolis-based computer concern said the fourth-quarter charges stem from its restructuring. About $65 million of the charges are related to work force reductions and facility closings. The remaining $135 million are charges that include reserves for writing down investments in the Healthcare Services and Business Technology Centers units, and for scaling down the remote data processing operations of Scientific Information Services.
