Bald Eagle

January 06, 1987

It is good to know that the bald eagle is making a comeback from its struggle against extinction. Since the bird was chosen as our nation's symbol, I am glad that the birds are increasing in population.

Through the efforts of the San Francisco Zoological Society to reintroduce the eagle into its original California environment, the eagle population should increase. Although the plan calls for a large amount of money, it is worth it to help these endangered birds, an American symbol, survive.
