Casey Having Speech Problems

January 06, 1987|United Press International

WASHINGTON — CIA Director William Casey is having trouble speaking and is experiencing weakness on his right side and has begun radiation treatments for the cancer that has hospitalized him since mid-December, hospital officials said today.

Georgetown University Hospital said Casey remains in stable condition and said the speech and right-side weakness troubles have been slowly improving since his brain surgery. A spokesman said he could not give any details of how the "right-sided weakness" was affecting Casey or whether he had control of his right arm or leg.
