USD Faces a Team That's Just as Hot Tonight in Gonzaga

The University of San Diego and Gonzaga--teams playing the best in the West Coast Athletic Conference--meet at 7:30 tonight at Spokane, Wash.

USD (1-0, 9-3) has five straight victories, including a 61-59 overtime victory at Portland last Thursday. Gonzaga (9-4), which defeated St. Mary's in its conference opener Thursday, has six straight victories.

Gonzaga is led by Jim McPhee, a 6-foot 4-inch sophomore forward averaging 16.8 points a game. USD is led by Scott Thompson, a 7-foot center averaging 17 points a game.
