Garlic and Basil Give It Taste : A Salad Dressing That Is Suitable With Just About Any Dish

Versatile Garlic-Basil Salad Dressing is equally suited for mixed greens, cooked and chilled vegetables or a platter of thickly sliced tomatoes, sliced red onion and mozzarella cheese rounds.

The dressing may be prepared with either fresh or dried basil. The dressing will be a tasty difference for family gatherings or festive dinner parties.


1/2 cup olive oil

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

2 tablespoons water

2 cloves garlic, crushed

1 tablespoon chopped basil leaves or 1 teaspoon crushed dried basil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Dash sugar

Combine olive oil, vinegar, water, garlic, basil, salt, pepper and sugar in container with tight-fitting lid. Shake until blended. Makes 3/4 cup.
