Kfac: Good Riddance

January 25, 1987

Until the recent re-formating, KFAC was the worst cacophony of commercials, dilettantism and hypocritical pomposity of any classical station known to me.

The old KFAC was an unrelenting blitzkrieg of common commercial jingles that never hesitated to cut off the head or legs of a piece or even an excerpt in order to fit in a sell-job. It was as if KFAC was broadcasting commercial announcements and using the music as filler.

"Goodby KFAC"? Yes, without much regret. KFAC is dead. Long live KFAC!
