A 2-for-1 Ticket Deal Is Offered by Pan Am

January 25, 1987|JACK ADLER

Pan Am is resuming, subject to the approval of foreign governments, its offer of selling two tickets for the price of one to its destinations in the United States, Mexico, Bermuda or Central America if you fly round trip on the carrier to Europe before May 15.

The pair of tickets you get for the price of one are subject to various blackout periods and have to be used on Monday through Thursday flights between May 1 and Dec. 15. You and your companion have to travel together.

After you return from Europe you have to send your original Pan Am boarding passes and the rest of your ticket to a redemption center to get a certificate that allows you to buy two tickets for the price of one. Plan to wait about a month before you get this certificate.

You can qualify for the program by flying any class of service and on any type of ticket to Europe. Remember that promotional fares have advance purchase and minimum/maximum stay conditions. Similarly, you can use the certificate for any class of service or ticket.

Pam Am is also resuming its free car offer until March 31. If you fly with a companion to Europe on Pan Am and travel together, you can also get a free Kemwel rental car for a week with unlimited mileage at numerous locations in Western Europe and Yugoslavia. You have to make your car reservations at least 10 days in advance, and there is a drop-off charge if you return the car to a different station from where you picked it up.

Contact travel agents or Pan Am at (800) 221-1111.

TWA has begun a similar companion ticket program. Contact agents or the carrier at (800) 892-4141.
