Movies

February 17, 1987| Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

When His Honor Clint Eastwood said in a recent interview that his political activities might have drawn less attention if he'd been elected mayor in Paso Robles instead of Carmel, Nick Russell took it personally. He's the mayor of Paso Robles. "I know Eastwood is pretty handy with a .44-caliber Magnum in the movies, but I think I could take him with a 2 1/2-inch Magnum fire hose," said Russell, a member of the San Luis Obispo County town's volunteer fire department. A spokesman for the actor-politician said no insult was intended.
