Torrance : Epson America Complex

February 19, 1987

Epson America Inc., the U.S. marketing and distribution arm for computer and consumer products manufactured by Seiko Epson Corp. in Japan, will build a $30-million national corporate headquarters in Torrance.

Ground breaking for the 195,000-square-foot facility on a 10-acre site at Madrona Avenue and Civic Center Drive will begin this summer and is expected to be completed in 1990.

The complex will include four buildings--two with two stories and two with three stories--surrounding a 25,000-square-foot courtyard.

Epson's headquarters is currently housed in six separate buildings around Torrance. The new complex will consolidate its corporate sales, marketing, service, finance and administration operations. Epson employs nearly 600 people in its Torrance facilities.
