Heavy rains forced cancellation of the Goodwrench 200 Busch Grand National stock car race at Rockingham, N.C., but NASCAR officials were hoping the rain would abate in time for today's Goodwrench 500.

Officials used first-day qualifying times to decide the starting positions for today's race. Davey Allison won the pole with a track record of 146.989 m.p.h.
