Former N.Y. Express Pair May Be Playing for Lazers Tonight

March 03, 1987|PETE THOMAS

The Lazers will play the Kansas City Comets tonight at 5:30 at Kansas City's Kemper Arena in the first of three road games.

The Comets (16-17) have won the two previous meetings against the Lazers (7-23), who have lost 13 of their last 14 games.

According to Lazer Vice President Ron Weinstein, Chris Whyte and Michael Collins of the New York Express, which has folded and filed for bankruptcy, may be in Lazer uniforms for tonight's game.

Both will fit right into the Lazers' plans, according to Coach Keith Tozer, especially Whyte, a solid defender.
