The partly nude body of Brenda Spicer, a former Northeast Louisiana University women's basketball player, was found by a groundskeeper in a garbage disposal bin on the school's campus in Monroe, La., authorities said.

Spicer, 18, was a highly regarded freshman guard who left the team and withdrew from school Feb. 10, school officials said.

No cause of death or motive was known, and Monroe Police Major Don Hall refused to speculate.
