Resorts Approves Trump Offer

March 09, 1987|Associated Press

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Resorts International announced today a majority of its stockholders have agreed to sell a controlling interest to New York developer Donald Trump for $78.9 million or $135 a share.

Resorts said those issues are currently held by the estate and family of the late Resorts chairman James M. Crosby. If Trump's bid meets state regulatory approval, he would own three casinos in Atlantic City--Trump Plaza Casino Hotel, Trump's Castle Hotel Casino and Resorts International Casino Hotel. He also would own his first Bahamas gaming property and a fourth Atlantic City casino hotel under construction.
