NEW YORK — Dow Jones & Co. shuffled the stocks in its widely followed industrial average Wednesday, dropping Owens-Illinois Inc. and Inco Ltd. in favor of Coca-Cola Co. and Boeing Co.
The change takes effect with the opening of trading today.
Dow Jones periodically changes components of the 30-stock average if it decides a shift is necessary to make the index better reflect the overall market or changes in the component companies.
