San Diego College Baseball : Aztecs Hang On in Ninth to Upset UC Santa Barbara, 4-3

San Diego State took a 4-0 lead into the ninth inning and held on for a 4-3 upset of No. 11 UC Santa Barbara in a first-round game of the Best of the West tournament at Fresno State.

Curt Lewis was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Bob Parry went 2 for 4 with a run batted in to lead the Aztecs (12-9). Santa Barbara is 11-9-1.

United States International University 7, Eastern Washington 3--Ron Green went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and scored twice to lead USIU (12-14) over Eastern Washington (2-6). The Gulls scored two runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to take a 6-1 lead. Noel Bishop (3-2) pitched a complete game.

Point Loma Nazarene 6, Georgetown College 2--John Danis hit a two-run home run in the first inning and Steve Wainwright added a three-run homer in the fifth for Point Loma Nazarene (8-12).
