U.S. Leaders Lie, Khamenei Says

March 20, 1987|Associated Press

NICOSIA, Cyprus — Iranian President Ali Khamenei said today that U.S. leaders have repeatedly lied about the Reagan Administration's arms shipments to Iran, and that Iran may print its own account of the deals.

He told a prayer session at Tehran University that the Tower Commission report on the case, which was critical of President Reagan, contained "concocted stories." "The Islamic Republic of Iran is thinking of publishing a report . . . concerning this issue so that the world will find out how much American leaders have lied," he said.
