After losing its first five games this season, Clairemont High School seemed on the verge of getting a victory Thursday in its GMC tournament game at University City when it took a 6-5 lead in the 10th.
But Clairemont couldn't make it past the 10th as umpires called the game because of darkness, nullifying the run the Chiefs had scored in the uncompleted inning.
Serra 10, Christian 7--Alex Williams homered and Ronnie Lardizabal drove in three runs with a single and a double to lead visiting Serra (3-3) to the victory. Jon Okken hit a two-run home run in the first inning and a three-run homer in the fourth for Christian (3-3).
La Jolla 10, Morse 1--La Jolla (4-1-1) had 16 hits. La Jolla was led by Pat Tribolet (2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs), Brent Woodall (2 for 4 with 2 RBIs) and Jeff Schultz (two doubles and an RBI). Woodall pitched a four-hitter for the victory.
