With the greatest assemblage of jockeys and trainers at any race track in the United States, it's difficult for any one jockey to win more than two races a day. So, when Laffit Pincay sets a Santa Anita record by winning seven of nine races on March 15, I thought it should have been the lead story on the sports page. But, nooooooo! Pincay's story was placed in the lower right corner of the page. I almost missed it.
Come on, you give more ink to Lasorda when he goes on a diet or when Reggie is left speechless. Come to think of it, they would be monumental stories, wouldn't they? Laffit should have been given his due.
