Bergeron Wins 300th

Gahr High School baseball Coach Tom Bergeron won his 300th game at the school Tuesday when the Gladiators defeated Lynwood, 8-1. Bergeron, who started at Gahr in 1972, has a 300-104 record and has won eight San Gabriel Valley League titles. Pico Rivera Champions

The Rivera Park Hawks of Pico Rivera recently won their third straight Southern California Boys Basketball Championship by defeating Commerce, 66-31, at Culver City. The Hawks, a team of 14-year-olds, had only five players and were led by Pete Tovar, the tournament's most valuable player. The other players were Ace Ayala, Junior Fry, Gabriel Ayala and Erick Dominguez.
