Spring break disturbances in Palm Springs over the weekend resulted in at least 73 arrests, police reported. Many of those taken into custody were vacationing college students who flocked to the desert resort in anticipation of Easter week revelry, Lt. Bill Manger said. Most of the arrests were for misdemeanors ranging from disturbing the peace and public intoxication to narcotics possession and drunk driving. Last week, more than 70 people were arrested, and police expect arrest figures to be at their highest next weekend.
