Hawaiian Airlines is offering a one-way student fare of $169 for travel from the West Coast to Hawaii during April, May and June. The "Home for the Summer" fare is available to Hawaii residents who are full-time students enrolled in an accredited North American academic, professional, business or technical school. Student identification must be presented at the time of purchase. Valid for travel beginning Wednesday and until June 15, the fare is available from Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Anchorage.

In Frances Shemanski's "Events in April Around the World," published March 29, the State Old-Time Fiddlers Contest in Merced is said to take place April 18 and 19. The correct dates for the contest were April 10 and 11.

Qantas will begin nonstop flights between San Francisco and Australia May 31 with 747 service to Sydney three times a week. The nonstops will operate Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
