A proposal to ban jet-skiers from a section of Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro has been dropped by the Los Angeles Harbor Department because of widespread opposition. Instead, Port Warden Edward Henry has decided to post speed limit signs and buoys in the area and add a patrol boat on weekends and holidays to cite jet-skiers for speeding and operating too close to windsurfers. Eight jet-skiers have been cited since the crackdown began last weekend.
