J. Edward Mandrell, Pepperdine University's assistant vice president for student affairs, has been named dean of students. He will start in the new position Monday.
Mandrell replaces Carl Mitchell, who will coordinate the university's new international study program in Florence, Italy.
Mandrell will be responsible for the offices of campus life, career development, foreign student advising, health and counseling, housing, intramurals, special programs and the campus ministry.
