The World

April 30, 1987

The Israeli court hearing the Nazi war crimes trial of John Demjanjuk will travel to Europe next month to question witnesses. Presiding Judge Dov Levine said the court will question witnesses in West Germany and Belgium from May 17 to June 12 to "gain a personal impression." Among the witnesses is Otto Horn, a former SS (Nazi elite force) member and nurse at the World War II Treblinka death camp. Demjanjuk, 67, a retired Cleveland auto worker, is accused of being the sadistic Treblinka guard "Ivan the Terrible."
