Alan MacDonald will be installed as president May 15 at the Northridge Chamber of Commerce 70th Anniversary Installation Dinner Dance. He has been associated with the administration of California State University, Northridge, for 11 years. Outgoing President Onofrio Vincent Bertolini will be honored, and actor Joe Conley will be installed as honorary mayor. Tickets are $30 and are available at the chamber office, (818) 349-5676. The black-tie-optional evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. at The Odyssey restaurant, 15600 Midwood Drive, Granada Hills.

A charity golf tournament will be held May 15 at Sunset Hills Country Club, 4155 Erbes Road, Thousand Oaks, to benefit Hospice of the Conejo. The agency provides counseling, patient care and education for the terminally ill and their families. It is supported entirely by individual contributions, memorials and community organizations. The tournament will begin with a luncheon at noon. Tee-off is 1 p.m. A dinner and awards banquet will follow at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $150, or $25 for the dinner only. Olive View Medical Center Foundation will hold a "Fabulous 40s Gala" May 17 at the Premiere Hotel in Universal City. H. F. (Bert) Boeckmann II will receive the Nelle Reagan Award for distinguished community service. The award is named for President Reagan's mother for her longstanding hospital volunteer work. Actor Alan Thicke will receive the Health Education and Research Award for his contributions to the cystic fibrosis, cancer and juvenile diabetes foundations.
