Pact for Olvera St. Restoration Plan Let

May 05, 1987

The Olvera Street Merchants Assn. announced that its newly formed Olvera Street Restoration Assn. has let a $100,000 contract with a group of consultants under the coordination of former Los Angeles Planning Director Calvin S. Hamilton for a restoration plan for the historic Mexican enclave near the city's Old Plaza.

Vivian Bonzo, OSRA's president, said the plan would bring the old buildings along the street up to modern seismic standards while preserving the Spanish colonial character of the area.
