A member of the Palestine Liberation Organization accused of taking part in a fatal attack on a West Bank passenger bus was arrested in New York and held for extradition to Israel, the State Department said. The man, identified as Mahmoud Abed Ahmad, 33, a naturalized American citizen, was arrested on his arrival at John F. Kennedy Airport from Caracas, Venezuela. He is accused by Israel of being part of a team that attacked an Israeli bus in April, 1986, using automatic weapons and firebombs. The driver of the bus was killed and three passengers were seriously injured in the attack.
