America West Airlines will begin twice-daily nonstop round-trip service from Long Beach to Phoenix on June 1. The morning flight will leave Long Beach at 10:10 a.m. and arrive in Phoenix at 11:10 a.m.. Afternoon departure is at 4:50 p.m., arrival at 5:50 p.m.

Alitalia will offer additional twice-weekly nonstop service from Los Angeles to Milan and on to Rome from June 18 through Sept. 26. This service will bring the number of Alitalia weekly departures from Los Angeles to Milan and Rome to four.

UTA French Airlines will add a fifth round-trip flight from San Francisco to Paris, effective July 5. The new Sunday flight will be offered through Aug. 30.

The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Assn. will conduct a travel photography workshop in Yosemite National Park June 5 through 7. A cost of $225 includes instruction on taking and selling travel and nature photographs, guided photography walks, slide shows, accommodations at Yosemite Lodge, some meals and a post-trip party at the zoo.
