Derrick McKey, the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year from Alabama, and Olden Polynice, former Virginia standout, topped a list of nine underclassmen who requested eligibility for the NBA draft June 22, the league announced.

Others seeking early entry were Vincent Askew of Memphis State, Ricky Brown of South Alabama, Norris Coleman of Kansas State, Kenny Drummond of North Carolina State, Russell Pierre of Virginia Tech, Reinhard Schmuck of Baruch and Kevin Smith of Minnesota.
