May 18, 1987

A spokesman for the Los Angeles supermarket chain said it sold 1.4 million shares to the public at $10.25 a share. The company said proceeds from the $14.3-million stock sale would be used to reduce debt incurred in the management buyout of Boys last year. Friday's bid price for the shares, which are traded over the counter, was $10.
