Arson caused the weekend fire that severely damaged the home of rock star Tom Petty and sent the singer-songwriter's family fleeing the flames, Los Angeles fire officials said. Battalion Chief Dean Cathey said arson investigators found a flammable liquid near the rear porch of Petty's split-level home in Encino. "We have at this time no suspects, no witnesses and no motive for the fire," Cathey said. Petty, his wife Jane and their 5-year-old daughter escaped from the burning home without injuries, but a housekeeper was treated for minor burns on her hands.
