Beverly Hills Hears Plans for Grocery

May 21, 1987

The first major grocery store to open in Beverly Hills in 30 years will be part of the city's senior housing project at 225 N. Crescent Drive, according to officials.

Robert Walsh, deputy city manager, briefed the City Council on plans for a 21,000-square-foot Mrs. Gooch's market to open in September as part of the city's 150-unit senior and handicapped housing project.

Floor plans for the new market, to feature a number of specialty areas including produce, meats, a full-service delicatessen and oven-ready foods, were presented by Dan Volland of Mrs. Gooch's.
