Martin Lomeli, assistant city manager of La Verne for the past seven years, has been named city manager. Lomeli, 31, succeeds William Sheldon Jr., who resigned May 23 after serving 4 1/2 years.
Lomeli's salary has not been set but will be between $60,228 and $73,200 a year, according to figures approved by the council.
