June 11, 1987

A $3,000 first-place prize has been awarded to UCLA Graduate School of Management students Kimberlee Meyer and Sheila Irani for their entry in the school's 1987 venture proposal competition.

Their winning idea for a new business was a company that would advise businesses on the feasibility and design for employer-sponsored child-care services.

Daniel Glassman and Irit Hillel won a $1,000 second-place award for their proposal for a firm that would develop and market products for software developers.
