There are leftovers--like the little Tupperware container with peas that works its way first to the back of the refrigerator, then to the front again. And then there are leftovers like the luscious piece of lasagna that is better for breakfast than it was for dinner.
Here are some luscious leftovers that for some reason did not make the column the past few weeks:
The Liberty Hill Foundation, at its 10th annual fund-raising dinner, honored Harry Belafonte and netted $60,000. Liberty Hill supports organizations in Los Angeles and San Diego that work to promote civil liberties and economic justice. In a decade of service, Liberty Hill has provided more than $1 million to 500 community groups. Kudos to Sarah Pillsbury, Mary Jo von Mach and the other spark plugs of this unique group.
LADIES WHO LUNCH--And work too, since the Cedars-Sinai Women's Guild annual raises a ton of money for the Medical Center. So kudos to Marcia Koch, Women's Guild president, and to Margery Tyre, Vivian Lantin, Pat Mendel, Sue Wilstein, Carol Goldsmith, Cookie Kates, Jean Bachelis, Loraine Sloan, Marilyn Gersten, Anne Geller, Cathy Louchheim, Ruth March, Wanda McDaniel Ruddy, Ruth Fox and Sarah Edwards for such a great job at the luncheon. Now, on to the premiere--and the planning for that sparkly autumn event will begin July 15, at a meeting at the home of Judy Ovitz. New board members expected to attend are Raffaella De Laurentiis, Nancy Davis Zarif and Abby Levy.
