The second light quake in as many days shook some desert communities. A spokeswoman for the Caltech seismological laboratory said the epicenter of the temblor, which measured 3.3 on the Richter scale, was four miles west-southwest of Yucca Valley, which is 15 miles north of Palm Springs. A quake that struck the Indio area early Sunday measured 3.8. No damage or injuries were reported either day.
